November we ventured to Ottawa for the Show of Shows. What an honor to be in an event that you are only eligible to compete in if you have won an All Breed Best in Show. I went with the full expectation of having fun and that is exactly what we did. We won the breed all three days and we placed in a very competitive group one out of the three days. Thank you Ms. Shirley Limoges for Rolex Group 3rd .
The Show of Shows event itself was very exciting and being all dressed up and in the ring with my buddy Rolex along with some of the nicest dogs in the Non-Sporting ring this year was truly an honor.
Then after arriving home, we ventured off to Brandon, Manitoba for Rolex last show of the year! Thank you the Mrs. Cathy Cinnamon and Mr. Chris Neilson for Rolex’s Group 1st placements and to Ms. Virginia Lyne for Rolex’s Group 3rd placing.
This past year has been an amazing ride for the two of us filled with lots of highs. Along the way I have met some amazing people and made wonderful new friends Thank you to all the judges and supporters of Rolex over the past two years. Now Rolex gets to stay at home do local shows and work on obedience and rally while the new Whippets and Dalmatian babies get to play in the ring!

I once again had the pleasure of showing a lovely whippet, Ch Winsmith Gossip Girl aka Stella who received a Best Puppy in Show under Judge Wayne Davidson. Thank you for a wonderful weekend! My weekend was made complete when I was asked by David Markus to co own Stella with him and Harriet Lee – I of course said yes without hesitation.
At the end of June we ventured off to Hamilton for the Dalmatian Club of Canada National Specialty. The weather was hot and far too humid for my spotted buddy and I was literally dragging him around the ring. Luckily for us the humidity and temperature dropped on the last day and Rolex was awarded this years 1st Award of Merit under judge Honey Glendenning.
Pictures can be found in the Stars of Special D section.
June was also a sad month for us as we had to say goodbye to our first Dalmatian Ch SpecialD Sadie Hawkins. Sadie was just shy of turning 15 years and 3 months old. She was our small little girl who was sweet and got us started in this world of dog shows and breeding. We will miss her terribly.
